eye idioms

Hello. I am a very interesting and intelligent man. And today, these eyes and I will be getting together to teach you some English idioms. These eyes and I, get it? These eyes and I, these eyes and I, I am so funny. Anyway, enough for that. Today, I have to do something very difficult. It's ...a baby! My boss's wife is sick, so he has to bring his baby into work. But now he is going out for lunch, so he asks me to keep an eye on the baby. In English if we want someone to look after something, or watch it closly, we say 'keep an eye on something'. To keep an eye on something. Well, here I go. And now for our next eye idiom, but first you have to stop messing around and start paying attention. You think because I am not facing you, (but?) I can't see what you are doing, But you are wrong. I've got eye in the back of my head. In English if someone knows everything that happens around them, even though they can't see it, we say 'they have eyes in the back of their head'. To have eyes in the back of your head. That's better. My boss is a little fat. He thinks eating a lot makes him a real man. Yestereday for lunch, he ordered break, soup, fish, steak, pork, potatoes, (paster?), cake and pie. But he couldn't finish at all. That's right, his eyes are bigger than his stomach. In English if someone takes too much food and can't eat at all, we say 'his eyes are bigger than his stomach'.  His eyes are bigger than his stomach. Not like me.

現在他去吃午飯了,他讓我keep an eye on the baby。 I have got eyes in the back of my head。英語裡,如果有人對身邊的每件事都知道,甚至就算他沒有看到它們,我們就說,he has got eyes in the back of his head。 這就對了,his eyes are bigger than his stomach。如果一個人拿了很多食物但是吃不完,我們就說 his eyes are bigger than his stomach。

Head idioms

Hello, I am a very interesting and intelligent man. And today, my head and I are going to teach you some English idioms. (I'll bet???) you have never been told by my head before. Well, yes, I suppose actually you have been told by my head before. Anyway, now, as we all know, learning a foreign language is very very very difficult and frustrating experience. Yes, indeed, it can very very very very very difficult and frustrating experience. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. In English if we try to do something that seems impossible or make us frustrated, we can say it is banging your head against a brick wall. It's like a banging your head against a brick wall. Of course, with my lessons, learning English is easy. Oh, yes. When you got such an interesting and intelligent teacher as me, it's ..very simple. When do you mean I've got my head in the clouds? In English, if someone is not fully aware of a situation, we can say 'he has got his head in the clouds'. He has got his head in the clouds. Have you met my younger brother? Now I know what you are thinking. You are thinking 'you are a silly man!' . That's not your yonger brother, that's an old man. But you are wrong. He has got an old head on young shoulders. In English, if someone seems old than they are, or if they talk and think like an old person, we can say 'he has got an old head on young shoulders'. He has got an old head on young shoulders. Unlike me, I have got a young head on old shoulders.

就好像是banging your head against a brick wall。在英語裡,如果我們嘗試做的事情是不可能或者令我們沮喪,我們可以說it's like banging your head against a brick wall。 I have got my head in the clouds呀? 英語中,如果某人對其所處環境懵懵懂懂,我們可以說he has got his head in the clouds。 he has got an old head on young shoulders'。英語中,如果某人看似大過實際年紀,或者他們的談吐和思考像成熟人那樣,我們就可以說'he has got an old head on young shoulders'。 I have got a young head on old shoulders。
